Marvin is recognized in the western music arena as a versatile music resource,due to his years of experience as a music collector, DJ, musician, songwriter, producer, band leader and consultant. He has recently been awarded the prestigious Wrangler Award from The National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, OK, as Producer of an award-winning CD for Musikode Records Artist, Mikki Daniel.
Marvin is also recognized as a successful song writer. His original music is being well-received and recorded by other performing artists. He is the 2007 and 2013 Western Music Association’s DJ of the Year, and his first solo album, Letter to Molly, has been nominated for a WMA Western Album of the Year award.
The song, Bittercreek, from the Letter to Molly album was nominated for 2008 WMA Song of the Year. His production and recording effort, The Silver Screen Project, is a compilation CD that features 19 of today’s finest western recording artists and musicians on a 2-CD set of 24 original songs.
The Silver Screen Cowboy Project was awarded the prestigious 2009 WMA President’s Award. Marvin’s highly requested song, Jesus & Roy, was awarded the WMA’s 2009 Song of the Year.
As a Producer, O’Dell is becoming known for the quality CDs he is producing for other artists. Most recently, his production efforts for Mikki Daniel contributed to that young rising star’s CD, Gotta Be A Cowgirl, receiving the prestigious WRANGLER AWARD for 2014 as well as Marvin receiving the Wrangler for his work as producer..He has partnered with KubeMusic, Mesa, AZ, for full-service, quality CD production.
